Steelcase is pleased to offer a number of our product lines as Revit models. We have developed a Revit modeling process that will result in models that are light in weight, but with enough detail to represent our products with visual accuracy, including a selection of our surface materials. To use these models within your building project, you may select and download either the entire product line as a zipped .RVT file, or you may select individual product families as .RFA files. We have also included a .DWF file for each project, so non-Revit users can open the project file and view the objects using the AutoCAD viewer. Here is the link to the AutoCAD website where you can download the free .DWG / .DWF viewer: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc/index?id=6703438&siteID=123112 Please note that we are calling our models ‘representative’, as most of them will not carry the wide selection of configurations, parts or option details that would be required to accurately price a setting or place an order. In most cases, we have not included power or other utility components, as this requires a depth of safe product and application knowledge only available through Steelcase dealers or other Steelcase representatives. For additional product details, application rules, components and options, please consult our on-line specification guides on this site at: http://www.steelcase.com/en/resources/design/spec-guides/pages/main.aspx or contact your local Steelcase Dealer or Steelcase representative. We have chosen to develop our models in Revit 2009, since many firms have not yet upgraded to 2010. All Revit models will automatically upgrade to newer versions of the software, but you cannot reverse the process, i.e., you cannot open a 2009 model in the 2008 software version. Our plan is to build our models in a release that is between one and two versions behind the current version.
